Synastry Readings: How Two Charts Are Compared
Know what a relationship-chart consultation covers before sharing personal birth details.
How synastry differs from a sign match
Synastry compares placements in two natal charts, often looking at aspects between one person's planets and the other's. The astrologer interprets symbolic themes such as attraction, friction, or different communication styles. It is more detailed than matching two Sun signs, but additional chart detail does not make the reading a factual test of compatibility.
Prepare both sets of information
Ask each person for consent and accurate birth details. Tell the reader if either birth time is uncertain. That can affect houses and angles, so interpretations based on them should be conditional. Decide who will attend, whether notes or recordings will be shared, and which personal subjects remain private. A joint session should give both people room to disagree.
Ask for balanced explanations
Request examples of how a described pattern might appear constructively or create tension. Avoid language that casts one person as the problem because of a placement. Ask what observation would make an interpretation feel less relevant. If the reader declares a destined union or an inevitable breakup, remember that the claim exceeds what a chart can establish.
Use the session to open a conversation
Afterward, each person can name one theme that fits and one that does not. Discuss a specific agreement, such as how to pause an argument or divide planning tasks. Do not purchase repeated readings to determine what the other person secretly thinks. For persistent relationship difficulties, an appropriately qualified counselor may provide a more suitable form of support.
